Become Richly Blessed – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
“A faithful man shall abound with blessings.” (Proverbs 28:20)
My precious child, I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Today, we are going to meditate on the verse from Proverbs 28:20. It says “A faithful man shall abound with blessings.” The word abound means to be richly blessed. Ezekiel 18:9 says: “If he has walked in my statutes and kept my judgments faithfully and is just, he shall surely live!” says the Lord GOD.
In The Bible, we read about a King called Hezekiah. In both II Kings 20:3 and Isaiah 38:3, we read about him. One day, King Hezekiah had to face a great rival. His enemy the king of Assyria was against him and wanted to completely destroy him. However, King Hezekiah with all sincerity cried out to the Lord. This is how he prayed: “Remember, LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” On hearing this prayer, the Lord sent his angels to help him. We can read about it in II Kings 19:35-36. “The angel of the LORD went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning – there were all the dead bodies! So Sennacherib king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew.”
If you read I Corinthians 10:13 and II Thessalonians 3:3, both these verses say that “God is faithful.” What are the things in which God is faithful? The Bible says in I John 1:9 “He is faithful to forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” Proverbs 12:22 says “The Lord delights in people who walk faithfully.” Yes my child, make a decision to walk in righteousness and be faithful before the Lord. Commit your life to God today.
Prayer:
My loving heavenly Father,
Thank you for today’s promise word. Change my life and take away all my unrighteousness. I humbly ask for your grace to walk faithfully and truthfully before you. I commit my life in your hands and let me bring glory to your name.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
