Harvest for hard labor – Dr. Paul Dhinakaran
“The Lord declares to you that the Lord himself will establish a house for you and also give you rest from all your enemies.”(II Samuel 7:11)
My precious friend Jesus loves you. He has chosen you and has made plans to give you a future and a hope. Therefore, as you join with me to start this new month, all the plans God has for you will come true. He will send an answer for all your tears and he will transform you into his image. Today being Labor Day, God shall bless all the labor that you have put in throughout your life. You shall build houses and live in them and plant vineyards and eat their fruit. You will long enjoy the work of your hands (Isaiah 65:22&23).
Today we shall meditate on a promise God gave to David through Prophet Nathan. David became king and settled down in his grand mansion. However, he was unhappy because the Ark of God was in a tent and he wanted to build a beautiful temple for God. It overjoyed God to see the heart of David and give him this promise. It is found in II Samuel 7:11, which says “The Lord declares to you that the Lord himself will establish a house for you and also give you rest from all your enemies.” David had been fighting enemies all these years. Even his own King, whom he served faithfully disregarding his own life before Goliath, turned against him because of jealousy. However, God says that he will give him rest from all his enemies, such that they would never again come against him. God promised David rest on all sides and to build him a house. God promises the same for you too. He has seen you battle with tribulations, ungrateful and wicked people, false allegations, wasteful expenditure, sickness and so on. You have battled all the pleasures of sin and fights in the family. God calls you his child and is going to give you rest from all these enemies. The Lord also promises to build a house for you.
The Bible says in Psalm 147:14: “He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.” Yes, your house will be surrounded with peace and God will fill your house with the finest of blessings. It is God’s will that you should have the finest of blessings. God wants you to have your own house, your own family blessed by God, a good job, honor in this world. He wants you to have peace in your heart and prosperity in your life. Such is the heart of God. He says that he will build a house for you, which has God’s peace as the fence. The devil may send fiery darts through wicked people and sinful pleasures to destroy, but the peace of God which is like a wall of fire will destroy the darts of the devil and you will live inside the house with all prosperity. Today this blessing is coming upon you. Receive it in the name of Jesus, the God of peace.
Prayer:
My loving heavenly Father,
I thank you for this promise verse. I thank you for you are going to build my life, surround me with your glorious peace, and satisfy me with the finest blessings. Let me bring glory to your name and use all the blessings you give me for the extension of your kingdom.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
