God’s unchanging promises – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you.” (Genesis 12:2)
My precious friend today is a great day – the republic day of our country. Nearly 70 years have gone by and God has done many great things in our country. I wish you on this great day and may God bless you.
Today, we are going to meditate on Genesis 12:2. It says, “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you.” Yes, God will bless you in this great nation of India and you are going to become a great and blessed person. The Bible very clearly says in many places about the unchanging nature of God; He fulfills all His promises. Psalm 33:9 says, “For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.” The scripture says in Proverbs 10:22: “The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.” Abraham and Isaac were very godly, but the children of Isaac, Esau and Jacob, were fighting with each other. However, God wanted to bless the generation of Abraham and Isaac. God spoke to Jacob and made him come under his shadow. Then, Jacob with all his heart started seeking God at all times. God blessed him and gave him a new name – Israel. Today, a whole nation is called after his name – the nation of Israel. Because of him, his 12 sons where made the 12 Tribes of Israel.
You may be a simple person but cling on to God and God will bless you abundantly. We have a God, who not only promises but also fulfills every one of his promises. Hebrews 10:23 says so; “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” Abraham was very careful to patiently trust the promises of God and God fulfilled every promise (Hebrews 6:15). My precious child, you also cling on to the promises of God in the Bible and you will definitely be blessed abundantly.
Prayer:
My loving heavenly Father,
I commit my life into your hands. Help me to read your word very carefully and hold fast to the promises that you have given me. Let all your promises be fulfilled in my life. Bless me abundantly like Abraham and Jacob. Bless me Father. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
