Your enemies will bless you – Dr. Paul Dhinakaran
“May you be blessed, David my son; you will do great things and surely triumph.” (1 Samuel 26:25)
My precious friend, may God bless you according to the promise found in 1 Samuel 26:25, “May you be blessed, David my son; you will do great things and surely triumph.” This blessing was given to a righteous young man called David by a person who hated him and was after his life to kill him. Let not your heart be troubled. When your ways please the Lord, even your enemies will be at peace with you and they will bless you. The first blessing in this verse is, “May you be blessed.” Another translation says, “You are blest David. Because you are blest I am not able to curse you.”
In Deuteronomy 23:5 we see, “However, the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam but turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loves you.” Proverbs 10:22 says, “The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, without painful toil for it.” When you are blessed by God, my friend, no sorrow or curse can touch you. David was blessed by God and the Lord said that he was a man after His own heart. Even in our lives, as my father received revelation after revelation for the ministry, a few people who did understand about God’s vision started speaking vilely against him. This touched my father’s heart. He was so discouraged.
But the Lord came to him one day and He said, “My son, I love you. Millions of people love you and they thank Me for you. You are blest. Do not be worried about these few people who speak out of ignorance and who are led by the devil. The more they speak against you or work against you, the more I will bless you.” Yes, the more people curse you I will bless you and increase you to greatness. In Genesis 26 we see that Abimelech tried to destroy Isaac but Isaac was blessed by God a hundred times. Then Abimelech and his men came and asked him to make a treaty with them as they found that God was with him. All your blessings will increase. As you do the will of God everyday, everything you do will prosper. You will surely triumph according to 1 Corinthians 15:57.
Prayer:
Loving Father,
Let me be blessed. Let me do great things and let me triumph. May the people who speak evil against me know that You are with me and see You bless me a hundred times as You blessed Isaac. Help me to run the race with my eyes fixed on You and not on people or anything negative. Give me grace to be victorious.
In Jesus’ precious name, I pray. Amen.
