Seek the Lord at all times – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. (Psalm 3:3)
Dear friend, I greet you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Word of God for today is from Psalm 3:3, “But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.” David says to God, “You are my shield. You are my glory. You lift my head.” David had a close communion with the Lord. In Psalm 23:1 he says, “The Lord is my shepherd.” In Psalm 18:2 he says, “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” He also says in Psalm 86:5, “You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.”

I Psalm 86:10 the Psalmist says, “For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.” How did you receive all these blessings? If you look at Psalm 16:8 he says, “I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” David set the Lord always before him everyday. So the Lord was always at his right hand. He was never moved. Though his son wanted to kill him and he lost his children, God made sure that his faith was not moved and God graciously chose his descendants as the lineage in which the Messiah was to come.
 
What a great blessing David received! Psalm 63:1 David says, “ You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water.” He sought the Lord early morning. In Psalm 63:6 he says, “When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches.” So even during late night his thoughts were about the Lord. In Psalm 55:17 he says, “Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.” He sought God all three times of the day. That’s why God blessed him abundantly. God was a shield around him. From today you should pray like him all three times of the day.

Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,

You are a God who answers prayers. Thank You for Your presence. Meet all my needs. As David experienced You being close to him let me also experience Your presence being close to me. Help me seek You all three times of the day. Bless me abundantly.
