Only what is good! – Shilpa Dhinakaran
The LORD will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. (Psalm 85:12)
Dear friend, the promise verse from God is from Psalm 85:12, “The LORD will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest.” I personally love this promise verse because this is what has happened in my life from my childhood till now. Every time something good or bad happens in our family, I take it as something the Lord has given us being sure that He will give only what is good. So many things might have happened in your life too, but always remember the Lord loves you, you are His child so He will never do anything that is going to harm you. Everything the Lord gives is good.
The Bible says in Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” When we love the Lord and give ourselves into His hand He will give only what is good to us. I remember so many incidents in my life where I have wondered, especially during my twelfth standard exams I worked so hard but I did not get the marks which I expected but even then the Lord did what was good. He still gave me admission in a wonderful college and enabled me to complete MBBS for which I thank the Lord each and every day. So my friend, even if it is a small setback, don’t worry because the Lord will give only what is good for your life.
Even in the Bible we see that Abraham and Lot went to a place journeying as per God’s direction. When they reached near Canaan, they had lot of flocks so they had to separate. Abraham asked Lot to choose the place he wants and Lot chose Sodom but Abraham was ready to go with what God gives and similarly God gave Abraham the land flowing with milk and honey which is Canaan. The region Lot chose looked very green and pleasant to the eyes but that place was soon burned down with fire because of the sins of the people there. So Abraham was blessed as he went with God’s choices. Yes my friend, you too don’t be worried over what God gives because it surely holds a blessing in disguise. You will surely look back and thank God one day for what He has given you.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
Thank You for this promise Lord. Fill me with Your Presence and Spirit. Let me not be upset that I did not get what I asked You for. I believe You will give me only good things. Let Your will be done in my life and let me bring You glory through it all.
In Your name, I pray. Amen.
