Walk Uprightly – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
“For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” (Psalm 84:11)
My precious friend, I greet you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Today, let’s meditate on the verse Psalm 84:11, “For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” God loves a righteous life. We read, “The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them” (Proverbs 20:7). A man is called righteous when he walks in integrity. Dear friend, check your life even now. Are you being upright before God?
We read in Proverbs 11:3, “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.” If you lead a life of integrity the Lord Himself will be pleased with you and He will guide you in the path of righteousness. This is the secret of success. We read in Job 1:1, “In the land of Us there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.” Job walked in the right way with all integrity. He faced so many problems in his life. He lost all his children, he lost his health, he lost his peace but as the Lord was pleased with him, he restored all his losses and made him live up to hundred and forty years. In Job 42:16, we read “After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation.”
Moreover we read about a king called Hezekiah. He too was a righteous man walking with integrity. But the Lord told Hezekiah that he is going to die and instructed him to put everything in order as he was going to die but Hezekiah tells God that he has walked in integrity before Him and asks God to remember his good deeds and grant him life. He cried to God facing the wall reminding God of his uprightness. So God added 15 years to his life and extended his life. God found him upright so He prolonged his days on earth. David says, “By this I know that You delight in me, for my enemy does not triumph over me. In my integrity You uphold me and set me in Your presence forever. (Psalm 41:11,12)” Enemies such as sickness or sorrow cannot touch your life when you walk in integrity. So make up your mind to walk uprightly before God and man from today.
Prayer:
Father,
Touch my heart and give me grace to walk in integrity before You and men. Cleanse me with Your blood. Change my heart and help me to live a righteous life. Help me to please You with my life. Bless me and give me a long and satisfying life like how You blessed Job.
In Jesus Name I pray,
Amen.
