Everlasting name – Dr. Paul Dhinakaran

“I will give them an everlasting name that will endure forever.” (Isaiah 56:5) 
Precious friend, God has a blessing for you today. It is from Isaiah 56:5, “I will give them an everlasting name that will endure forever.” Your name will endure forever. You might have been humiliated. You may say “My name is tarnished. I am finished. Nobody knows me. I know no one who can help me. I don’t have a great name. My name is unknown.” But God says, “My child, I will give you an everlasting name.” Do you know what’s that everlasting name is? It is the name ‘Jesus’. The name of Jesus is exalted above all other names and God wants to call you by the name of Jesus as the child of Jesus.

Yes, in John 1:12, we read, “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” If you believe in Him and give your life to Him, surrendering to His will then you will be called by the name of the Almighty God. You will be called child of God. Your father’s name is Jesus and you will be known as the son or daughter of the King Jesus. God says, “For the sake of Jacob my servant, of Israel my chosen, I summon you by name and bestow on you a title of honor, though you do not acknowledge me.” God will give you a title of honour in this world. God will deliver you because you know His name and He will honour you for He says, “He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him” (Psalm 91:15).

Jabez in the Bible was a person whose name means, “He causes pain”. What a terrible name that is! Hearing people call him by his name wounded his heart and He cried out to God saying, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request” (1 Chronicles 4:10). God heard this prayer and made him prosperous. Thank God that your parents have named you well. May be your life does not correspond to your name. May beyou are not blessed as you should be. Don’t’ worry. Today, God promises you that you will be given a name of honour and you too will be blessed like Jabez.

Loving Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving me Your name. Let everything turn honourable in my life. Let me have days of honour. Let everything I do prosper. Enlarge my territory and keep me from harm. Help me get back every blessing. Bestow Your riches and honour on me. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
