Be sure to receive – Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:24).
A Canaanite woman from that vicinity of Tyre and Sidon, came to Jesus, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.” Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.” He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said. He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” Her daughter was healed at that moment (Matthew 15:21-28). Because, she kept asking being completely sure that God is able to answer everyone who comes to Him, she received the healing she was looking for.
Let’s look at a similar testimony from a sister called Rebecca Prabhakar from Trichy: “I am a teacher in a private school and my husband works for a company. We were married in the year 2000. For many years we were childless and so we consulted some doctors and received treatment for many years. As there was no result in spite of receiving treatment till the year 2010, we became weary and stopped the treatment. We went in person to the Jesus Calls Prayer Tower in Trichy and asked the prayer intercessors to pray that the Lord will bless us with a child. They prayed for us earnestly. We continued to go to the Prayer Tower for prayers. My husband’s sister Reena also did not conceive even after 4 years of marriage. I not only prayed for myself but for my sister-in-law too. The Lord graciously helped me to conceive, 14 years after my marriage. In 2015, I gave birth to a girl baby. Three months later, the Lord was also gracious to bless my sister-in-law with a child. The Lord made our family happy by giving us two precious little children. Glory to God.”
When our situation looks impossible, if we believe in prayer we would certainly receive answers. Jesus says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24). God is faithful to answer everyone who comes to Him. Sometimes He says ‘yes’, sometimes He says, ‘no’ and other times He also says, ‘wait’. Whatever it is, getting an answer from God is itself precious. All we need to do is believe and then ask. We should go to God and pursue Him without doubting or without giving up like the Canaanite woman. God will not only answer us but also commend us for our faith.
Prayer:
Loving Father,
Show me Your will and speak to me through Your word concerning my situation. I believe in You for a miracle. Just as You answered and healed the people who came to You, do wonders in my life too. I will continue to seek You until I receive Your blessing. Thank You for You hearing me. This I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
