Be full of the Word! – Bro. D.G.S Dhinakaran
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path” (Psalm 119:105).
Jesus said, “I came to send fire on the earth and how I wish it were already kindled!” (Luke 12:49).” The fire on the earth is the Word of God which is life and Spirit (John 6:63). Before the Holy Spirit came into the world, the Word of God who was Jesus himself had to come. Only the Word of God which is the Bible can direct us in the ways of God. We see that the Psalmist says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105). Yes, it is through the Bible that we know the way we should walk in. When we align our lives with the word of God and ask God for His anointing, He fills us with His fire anointing. Jesus prepared the hearts of His disciples with His Word so that they could believe and receive His anointing.
There is an interesting story of a king of England who once went to a Sunday class. In His left hand he had a garland of gold and in the right he held a Bible. The gold garland was very, very attractive. The king asked one of the students “Which of these two would you like to have?”. Naturally the boy opted for the gold-garland. When the question was asked of the next boy, who was looking poor every inch he wished for the Bible, to the great surprise of the monarch. He said, “My mother has taught me that the Bible is the greatest treasure in the world. Therefore, please your Majesty, I shall be happy if you present me the Bible”. The king gave the two gifts they asked for. When the boy, who had received the Bible reverently opened the Word of God, he was surprised to find in each page of the Book a plate of gold! The boy was taken aback. The king spoke to him saying, “Son, since you preferred the Bible, to the precious looking garland, you have received a price of greater value than the glittering gold-garland”. This is how God also blesses us when we desire Him more than anything else.
Jesus said, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33). When we read the Word of God and seek His ways we will be blessed spiritually as well as with the blessings of this world. We should be filled with God’s Word and long for the anointing of the Holy Spirit to serve Him mightily. As the Word increases in us the anointing in our lives will also increase. The Holy Spirit will lead us prophetically by reminding the right word from God at the right time as we store God’s Word in our hearts. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you (John 14:26). So, let us desire to be filled with the Word of God and with His anointing.
Prayer:
Loving Lord,
Give me grace to read Your scriptures diligently and store them in my heart. Anoint me with Your Hold Spirit and lead me prophetically through Your Word. Let me have a close walk with you. Help me to be filled with Your power so that I can be a witness for You.
I ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
