God will heal you! – Bro. D.G.S Dhinakaran
“Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. Blessed are all who wait for him!” (Isaiah 30:18)
Several years back, I became bedridden due to severe illness. I was waiting for someone to pray for me. A friend who was employed with the Railways in Chennai came to see me. He cried saying, “Why should you suffer like this?” I was literally, skin and bone lying on my bed. He gently stroked me with his hands as he prayed with much burden, “Lord Jesus, heal him.” I can never forget that loving touch throughout my lifetime. He was lamenting for me that whole day without eating anything and tearfully fasted for me. He kept stroking me with his hands as he tearfully prayed, “Lord, this Your servant is so effective in touching so many lives. You have to heal him.” Likewise, another pastor came to see me. He was an old man. He was angry with me for not informing him about my illness. He knelt down and stroked me with his hands. He kept his hands on me as I was writhing in fever and pain. He prayed, “Lord, I am very old; this world will not benefit much by my existence; let his illness come upon me! Let me die! Let him live.” His compassion brought tears in my eyes and comforted my broken heart to a large extent.
God says, “I will not forget you.” (Isaiah 49:15). According to the verse, God will not forget you. Whatever be your circumstances, He is the One who has compassion on you, sympathizes with you and reaches out His hand to touch you. The loving touch of Jesus Christ is so powerful that it can heal all the illness in your body. So, let not your hearts be troubled! It not only heals the wounds found in the hearts of the broken-hearted, but it is also powerful to heal the illness in your bodies too (Isaiah 61:1). Jesus let His body to be torn and wounded in order to feel the pain you are going through. “Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, and by his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:4,5). Jesus has gone through more than you are going through. Don’t lament saying, “nobody will understand my pain” because Jesus does.
Once, ‘when Jesus came down from the mountain, large crowds followed Him. Suddenly a leper came and knelt before Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed’ (Matthew 8:1-3). Jesus not only sympathized toward the leper but He also stretched His hand to touch the leper and showed him His love. He says to you today, “I am willing to heal you”. One word from the Lord is enough to set you free. All you need is faith. If you believe that God is willing to heal you and hold on to this promise you will surely see His healing.
Prayer:
My Healer!
Lord Jesus, You went through pain and suffering and let Yourself to be wounded so that I can be healed. Thank You for Your promise that You will never forget me and that You are willing to heal me. Lord, I want to receive Your touch of healing. Let Your touch of love heal my heart and my body. Make me a testimony of Your healing power.
I ask this Heavenly Father in Jesus name, Amen.
