Believe God’s Word blindly! – Dr. Paul Dhinakaran

“Don’t be afraid; just believe.” (Mark 5:36)
Jairus was taking Jesus home to heal his daughter who was lying at the point of death. But some people came running to him and said, “Jairus, your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher.” Indeed you can imagine what people would have told him. They would have said, “Jairus, it’s over, everything is finished; your daughter is no more.” Everyone must have mourned with him. There was crying and weeping in his house. As a father, his heart was shattered into pieces. But, Jesus saw the sorrow in the eyes of Jairus and said, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.” And we know what happened in the end – Jairus got back his daughter. She was restored to life. If Jairus had not taken Jesus to his house believing His word the story would have been sad. But because Jairus trusted the Word of God, He witnessed the miracle. God expects us to trust His Word. He says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away (Matthew 24:35).”

In the early days of our ministry, my father had to face many problems – be it in the ministry or his health or be it finances – the situations had reached a crisis. We also went through the most agonizing path after losing my dear sister, Angel. But all this could not stop us from trusting God. We did not fear looking at the circumstances but rather trusted Him. From the day, we started trusting the Lord more and more, He started adding goodness to us in an immeasurable manner. His goodness never stopped and it still continues to the next generation too.

My friend, one positive word from Jesus made Jairus to come to the point of hope. People around may speak words of discouragement. They may say things like ‘you can’t study; your business has failed; it will never prosper; you are bankrupt; you cannot survive in this world anymore.’ But Jesus on the other hand says, “Do not be afraid; just believe” (Mark 5:36). When fear troubles your heart God cannot perform His miracles for you. So, during the times of your struggle, do not be troubled my friend. Just say, “Lord, I can’t do it, help me Daddy” and you will see His mighty power operating in you. Yes my friend, believe in His positive words and you will experience His miracle today. Wait on the Lord’s feet for His Word concerning your situation. When God promises, He will surely fulfil it. All you need is one word from the Lord. Read the Bible everyday and also read or listen to God’s messages through people with an open ear to hear from God and He will certainly speak to you. His words are life. The Word of God is spirit and life (John 6:63); it is living and active (Hebrews 4:12) and, when quickened by the Holy Spirit, has dynamic power to resurrect anything back to life.

Prayer:
Father God,

You are an everlasting and amazing God. You have instilled only words of comfort, healing, encouragement in me. Though this world discourages me, I will only listen to Your voice. Give me Your grace that I may shut my ears to the voice of the devil. Take control of me.
This I ask in Jesus’ name,
