You will live long! – Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran
“He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive” (Luke 20:38).
Do you have a relationship with God? Can you say of God that He is ‘my’ God? Do you own Him as your God? Bible says in Luke 20:37, “But in the account of the burning bush, even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.'” God was called by the name that belonged to His children. He was proud to be known as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Because they chose Him to be their God, He made their names great. He fulfilled His promise to Abraham in which He had said, “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great and you will be a blessing” (Genesis 12:2). God belonged to them as much as they belonged to God. As a result God blessed them with a long life while on earth and also made them enter into Eternal life. God tells you today that He is the God of the living and He will make you live.
Once there was a man who was totally depressed. He was standing by the side of the road speaking through the open window of a person in a car. His wife had left him. He had no job. Each day was a burden, and worse yet, he was a burden to the world. In his words, he was “totally useless.” The man in the car tried to cheer him up with some words of hope, but he was firm in his belief. So he left him with some optimistic thought and darted into a U-turn, happy to go on to something more cheerful. Suddenly the depressed man screamed, “Stop!” So the man in the care slammed on the brakes just in time to see an extremely fast moving car whiz by. He said to him: “If you hadn’t called out, I would have been dead now. A few seconds ago you felt useless without purpose, and now you have saved my life! From this moment on, every good deed I do will also be credited to your account.” His face lit up, as the many months of depression fell away. There is a dawn, and even the darkest nights do pass. No one knows what the next moment holds but when we know that our God is living we can always have hope for a change of times.
God will heal you of all your sicknesses and weakness and make you live. No matter what makes you feel that your life is over, God says to “Because I live, you also will live” (John 14:19). Jesus went through everything you are going through. He went through death and was buried but He rose back to life. He has all authority in His hands to turn your life upside down. When you have a personal relationship with God, He Himself will speak to you, walk with you and teach you profitable things that will change your present circumstances. The doctors might have given up hope but the hope we have in God is that because He is living we will live also. So hold on to this promise today and claim a long and blessed life in this world. Your name will also be honoured like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and He will be known as your God.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
Thank You for choosing to reveal yourself to me and become my God. I value Your more than my life. You are the reason I live and thank You for promising me that You will bless me with a long life. Heal my loved ones who are sick and heal them so that they enjoy a long life. Help me to own You as my God and let me life be blessed and let Your Name be lifted high through my life.
I ask this in Jesus name,
Amen.
