GOD WIPES AWAY YOUR TEARS! – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

“In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul” (Psalm 94:19).
Many times, when we lead a happy life, all of a sudden, like a bolt from the blue, calamities strike us. At unexpected times, we hear the news of death, accident or imminent danger. Who can bear the shock when heart is broken and eyes are filled with tears? Only, those who have gone through the agony of life know what suffering is. Others may sarcastically say, “We are tired. Why do you go on repeating the same old story?” But, we should know that other people could never give us the consolation given by the Father of all mercies and God of all comforts (2 Corinthians 1:3). Even when you walk through the valley of death, look only unto the Lord. He shall comfort you and console you (Psalm 91:15).

In the year 1986, we happily started on a journey by car to another place with our dear daughter Angel. But, we were shattered when our car met with an accident on the way and we lost our only beloved daughter Angel. We felt as if our heart was split into two. In this terrible condition, it was our loving and merciful God, our Father in heaven, who embraced us and comforted us. But, one person who could neither share nor comprehend our pain and agony, came to my husband and said sarcastically, “Why do you go on lamenting and shedding tears in public meetings about your daughter who is no more? Don’t you know that it is only God who took your daughter away?” But, my husband just kept quiet. Days went by. One day, this man’s son went for a swim into the sea with his friends but never returned. After this bitter experience, this man came to my husband and said, “Brother, please, forgive me, now only, I am able to understand the pain and agony you underwent in your life.” And he also wept bitterly. My husband, forgetting the past, hugged him, comforted him and prayed for him.

“If I say, “My foot slips”, Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up. In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul” (Psalm 94:18,19). Yes! According to this verse, our God will comfort and console you under any worst situation and wipe away your tears. Whether you willingly cast your anxieties at His feet or do it painfully, God receives them! Come to Him with your anxieties because He cares for you. He has the solution to your all your problems because He is, Himself, the solution.

Prayer:
Loving Lord,

You are my only comfort when I am heartbroken. On the cross, You won victory over death. So, today, You help me also to overcome my suffering and pain and wipe away my tears. Let Your comfort and consolation give me the strength to conquer the sorrow and worries that burden my heart.
