A boundary for every burden! – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
“This far you may come, but no farther” (Job 38:11).
If God is in our midst, be it in our house, workspot or wherever we go, how blessed we would be! How great is our God! He is the One who controls nature. He ordered the waves, “This far you may come, but no farther” (Job 38:11). He changed the water into wine (John 2:9-11). He divided the sea into two and made it into a dry land and helped His people cross the sea (Exodus 14:22). Like this, we can go on quoting many instances from the Bible to describe His power. If such a mighty God is with us, what a great privilege we have. So, let us look up to Him and call Him. If we are watchful in leading a life that is pleasing in His sight, the above quoted promise will certainly be fulfilled in our life. In this world of suffering, His living in our midst will be a great source of blessing and joy to us.
When tsunami lashed South Asia, people were running away from the shores to save their lives. At that time, there lived an old mother near the sea shore. Her son had come with his family to spend the Christmas with her. When she saw the huge waves, she told him, “Dear son! Run away from this place along with your wife and children. Don’t worry about me. God will surely save me.” As he had no choice, with a heavy heart, he escaped from that place with his wife and children leaving his aged mother behind. The water started rushing in. This aged mother, filled by the spirit of God, prayed and said, “You sea water. This is the house of the children of God. The Almighty God lives here. Do not come any farther. In the name of Jesus, I break your powers.” Those words broke the power of the water. It stopped and started receding. This is a true incident. God’s children are dear to the Lord. Wherever they are, His presence will surround them.
God has given you power to declare and claim His promises for your life. You can boldly confess that your problem should not come any further and it will surely recede from your life. Use God’s Word as the sword that slays every weapon of the devil. God has promised that He will never leave you and never forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). When God is with you problems will turn into platforms where God’s name is glorified. Just as He raised Lazarus, He will visit you and raise up every thing that you feel has come to an end. He will make everything new for you and make ways where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:19). He is miracle-worker, a chain breaker, light in the darkness and promise-keeper. You can trust Him to do wonders for you. He will come through for you. He will fight for you and you only need to be still (Exodus 14:14). Your overwhelming problem will vanish and you will soon be overwhelmed with thankfulness. Cheer up!
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
I thank you for Your promise that You are with me. I believe you will provide everything for me. Take away all my overwhelming troubles and fill me with Your overwhelming peace. Let Your peace guard my heart and my mind in You. I praise You that You will command every wave that rises to come no further than this and calm every storm. Keep me full of faith so that I see my deliverance soon.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.
