God watches over you – Shilpa Dhinakaran
“Like birds hovering overhead, the LORD Almighty will shield Jerusalem; he will shield it and deliver it, he will ‘pass over’ it and will rescue it.” (Isaiah 31:5)
Dear friend, today’s promise verse is from Isaiah 31:5, “Like birds hovering overhead, the LORD Almighty will shield Jerusalem; he will shield it and deliver it, he will ‘pass over’ it and will rescue it.” God’s promise for Jerusalem is to protect it, heal it and deliver it. You are God’s Jerusalem. I am reminded of something that happened in our house few days back. There’s a nest next to our window. There are many baby birds in the nest and the mother bird and father bird used to come and look after these baby birds.
When the mother bird is feeding the baby birds, the father bird used to stand a little bit away and watch over the nest, protecting the baby birds. Even though the bird is so small compared to us, he used to guard the nest to the best of his ability from predators. Whenever we try to touch it or go near it, the father bird will get angry and try to protect it. In the same way, the Lord is protecting us just like a Father.
The Bible says in Proverbs 30:5, “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” So according to this verse, the Lord is going to protect you. You might be scared to even go out into the world because of the wicked crimes that we hear of each day, but the Lord says He is going to protect you. Because you are His chosen people, He will deliver you and rescue you from even the sinful habits or sicknesses that might destroy your life. He will dwell in your midst and watch over you like the father bird. So don’t be afraid. Be encouraged.
Prayer:
Loving Father,
Thank You for You are going to protect me. Thank You for I am Your Jerusalem. Thank You for You will shield me, deliver me and rescue me from all sicknesses and plots of the devil. Thank You for You will watch over me like a father bird and keep me safe. Let Your presence be around me.
In Jesus’ precious name, I pray. Amen.
