Carried by God – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
“There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” (Deuteronomy 1:31)
Dear friend, I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today’s promise of God is from Deuteronomy 1:31, “There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” Sometimes, when there is a flood or some danger in the ground, the old people carry their grandchildren on their shoulders. In the same way, this portion from the word of God says that God will carry each one of us on His shoulders everyday and every minute of our lives.
How does He carry us like that? If we read Matthew 8:17 it says, ‘This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.”’ Yes, He carried all our problems on the cross. He made us free from lies, worldliness, futile things and darkness of this world. Isaiah 53:4 says, “Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins!”
Hebrews 9:28 also says, “so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” Bible says in 1 Peter 2:24, “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.” Let us look to the cross not only once but all the time. Let our eyes be on the cross. From there comes our peace, joy and every blessing. Also in Isaiah 46:4 God says, “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” So submit yourself into the hands of our Lord Jesus. He will carry you all through your life and care for all your concerns.
Prayer:
Loving Father,
Accept me as Your child. Cleanse me with Your precious blood and deliver me from my sins. I love You and I cling to You. You are my only hope. Take control of my life. Fill me with Your joy. Carry me on Your shoulder and care for me.
In Jesus’ precious name, I pray. Amen.
