Make God your refuge – Shilpa Dhinakaran
“The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” (Deuteronomy 33:27)
Dear friend, God’s promise for today is from Deuteronomy 33:27, “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” Yes, the Eternal God is our refuge. Psalm 91:1 says, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” When we are under the shadow of the Almighty there is nothing we should fear or nothing we should worry about. The only thing we have to do is to go to God and tell Him all our problems. Cry it out to Him and He will take care of everything.
I remember the story of my grandmother. She lost her husband at a very young age. But she brought up all the eight children. When the youngest was just a new born baby she lost her husband. But whatever problem she had, she used to kneel down and cry it out to God and the Lord was her refuge. We know the story of Hezekiah and the king of Assyria Sennacherib. The king of Assyria threatened Hezekiah saying, “How can you be so sure that your God will save you? Nobody can stand in front of me. Nobody has stayed alive before me. I will kill you.”
But Hezekiah cried out to the Lord and the Lord delivered Jerusalem. In the same way, if you are alone and people are threatening you today, go and cry out to God for He is our refuge. May be you are scared because of the situation outside and because you have to go out for work, you are afraid of what will happen to you or your loved ones but my friend, the Bible says, “Because you have made the LORD your dwelling— my refuge, the Most High—no evil will befall you, no plague will approach your tent.” (Psalm 91:9,10) So put your trust in God and His word and be at rest.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
I thank You for You are my refuge. Remove all my fears. Strengthen me to move forward in life. Help me to trust You and Your word. Thank You for Your everlasting arms that protect me from above, below and around. Help me to be completely dependent on You.
In Your precious name, I pray. Amen.
