Best of everything – Shilpa Dhinakaran

“He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.” (Psalm 147:14)
Dear friend, the promise of God for today is from Psalm 147:14, “He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.” Today is our wedding anniversary. It’s been two years since we got married. When I read this verse I was reminded of my wedding preparations. We had very few days to prepare for the wedding. But the Lord granted peace in every situation. There were times when we were so confused and didn’t know what decision to make. But even then the Lord granted peace in our situation and He led us to the right direction.

I remember the time when we were putting up a tent for the wedding. The cost was so much higher than the regular cost and we didn’t know about this. But at the right time God sent a particular person who helped us find out the mistakes and we were able to take the right decision and create a beautiful wedding venue. All thanks to God. God also granted us the finest of wheat. I remember how everyone said even our wedding food was really tasty. I thank God for that. Today, when we give control to God He gives us peace and He gives us the finest of wheat.

Jesus says in John 16:33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” No matter what trouble you are facing today, no matter what situation you are in today, the Lord is above everything. He is the God of your heart. He is the God of your family. He is God of your finances and the Lord will grant you peace in every situation.  Even if there may be calamities and confusions surrounding you, you and your family will have peace. The Bible says in Isaiah 1:19, “If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land.” The Lord says if you are obedient to Him He will give you the best of everything- not only the finest of wheat but the best in every situation be it your marriage, studies, job or family.

Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,

Fill me with Your peace. Bless me with the finest of wheat by giving the best things in my life. Help me to be obedient to You Lord. Help me listen to You and Your Word. Thank You for this promise.
