A new creation – Shilpa Dhinakaran
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel 36:26)
Dear friend, the promise of God for this day is from Ezekiel 36:26, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” Today, when you ask Lord Jesus Christ to come into your life, the Lord will give you a new heart and a new spirit. The Bible says in Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” So when Christ comes into our life we become a new creation.
You must have read about the story of conversion of Saul into Paul in the Bible. When Saul surrendered his life to Christ he became a new person. He was no longer Saul but became Paul. In the same way when we commit our life to Christ, when we confess our sins to Christ, God comes into us and transforms us. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!“ When we commit our lives and we become a new creation the devil might come and tell us, “No you have committed these sins. You will not be accepted by God” and he might try to condemn us.
The devil might also make us doubt our stand for Christ. But don’t worry because when Christ comes into us He will make us anew. God says, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19)Becoming a new person might look impossible for you but God says that ‘He’ will do the impossible for you. He says, “You will be my people, and I will be your God.” (Jeremiah 30:22) So ask the Lord to make you a new person. Ask Him to give you a new heart and new spirit so that you can work for Him.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
Thank You for this promise. Give me a new spirit and a new heart. A heart that beats for You and is willing to do anything for You. Let my mind be renewed and my actions change so that Your name is praised. I surrender myself into Your hands.
In Your precious name, I pray. Amen.
