Wait patiently – Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran
“The LORD is my light and my salvation– whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1).
Dearly beloved, the Lord has a wonderful promise for you for today which is taken from Psalm 27:1, “The LORD is my light and my salvation– whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life– of whom shall I be afraid?” Yes, God is your stronghold. David was a prayer warrior. All through the book of psalms he has praying all the time. He literally fought with the Lord and got the answer. That’s why David says in Psalm 40:1, “I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.”
Today you might also be crying to the Lord saying, “I have been waiting patiently Lord. Will You listen to my prayer? Will You answer my prayer Lord? I am desperate. Will You give me this blessing?” You might be praying like this. That’s why David says in Psalm 27:14, “Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” He says be of good courage and keep you heart strong. He might have been waiting and waiting at the Lord’s feet everyday. He says, “I will bless the Lord at all times and my lips will be continuously praising the Lord.” He was praying in the morning, evening and night. He prayed seven times a day. This is the prayer life of David. He patiently waited on the Lord for answers.
Let the Lord strengthen your heart. People might be discouraging you saying, “how long will you pray and wait on God?” But nothing is impossible with the Lord. You wait patiently. May the Lord strengthen your heart and give all your heart’s desires. May the Lord be your hope. Abraham also asked the Lord, “Almighty God what will You give me since I am childless? After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” (Genesis 15:1) What a wonderful word that comes from the Lord it is, isn’t it? The Lord says the same thing to you also my dear friend. “I am Your shield and Your very great reward. What more do you want in your life?” Yes, He is the only comfort you can have in this world. Abraham was worried that he was childless but God took him outside and showed him that he would get descendants as much as the stars that cannot be counted. The words of Abraham were “I am childless” but the words of the Lord were “You will have multitudes of children”. This is the promise the Lord has got for you also dear friend. Be of good courage, wait patiently and God will surely answer you.
Prayer:
Loving Father,
You are a good God to provide me with everything. I am a person who has many lacks but I believe that You are promising me everything I need so I choose to put my faith in You. Bless me right today. Reward me for my patience. Strengthen my heart and my body. Make everything new in my life. Let me receive everything that I have lost.
In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
