Shine God’s light – Stella Ramola

“Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.” (Matthew 13:43)
God says to you that He will make you shine like the sun because you seek Him each day and He is with you. How do we get God’s light to shine upon us? When we seek God by reading the Bible and spending time with Him, the Lord’s light will shine on us and make our face to shine like the sun. For we read in the Bible, “Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame” (Psalm 34:5). Whatever you do will prosper and your faces will never be covered with shame. In your workplace, in the midst of your peers God will make you shine for Him.

We read in the Bible that God’s Word is light. Psalmist says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path” (Psalm 119:105). When we read God’s Word and store it in our heart God’s light will shine through us. Jesus is the Word of God and that is why He is also called the light of the world (John 8:12). He taught people to walk in God’s ways and turned many away from sin. God calls us to do the same. He says, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16).

We shine God’s light by following God’s Word and doing good deeds. Light will make everyone see clearly. Similarly, what we do should lead others to God. We also read, “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever” (Daniel 12:3). Those who lead people to Christ will shine brightly. So, all you need to do is live according to the light of God’s Word and share Jesus with everyone if not through your words you can show Him by the way you live. God will give you this grace today. Trust in God, look to Him each day having your eyes focussed on God, reading His Word and walking by it for then your life will become like a shining light to the world.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus,

I pray that Your light will shine upon me as I seek You each day by reading Your Word. Help me to keep my eyes focused on You. Let my life be a light to this world. Let my life be a blessing to everyone in my life. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
