Work worthy of God’s call – Shilpa Dhinakaran

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. (Colossians 3:23)
Yes, my dear friend, whatever you do even if it is a small thing, work at it with all your heart as your working for the Lord. This is one of my favourite verses in the Bible because whenever I am tired of my work or I don’t like something which I have to do, I always remember I am working for the Lord and not for human masters. When you keep this verse in your mind you will surely be able to work with all your heart. Now a days everything is online, we work from home, we don’t have to go to our offices, colleges or schools. So there is no one to supervise us. But always remember God is watching each and everything you do. God will be so happy to watch you work with all your heart.

According to Luke 16:10, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” So when you do even small things sincerely, God will give you greater responsibility because He will be sure that you will do everything well. When God watches you do your duty diligently, God will be so delighted with you and He will say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant”.  I am sure you are inspired to work for the Lord as you will be surely commended for your work.
Mother Teresa cared for everyone who was in her home with motherly love. When someone asked her what makes her show such kind of deep love, she had said that when she serves people she used to consider each one as the Lord Jesus himself and so she wouldn’t feel difficult attending to their needs. That is how we should also serve everyone in our lives thinking we are serving the Lord Himself and do whatever we do to the best of our ability. We should be worthy of the great call God has placed upon our lives to serve Him and bring Him glory by giving our best.

Lord Jesus,

I thank You for teaching me this great truth today. Lord I ask You to fill me with Your grace to walk by this Word. Help me to work at everything with all my heart. Help me to put in my maximum effort and do my best for You. Help me to be mindful of Your presence. Help me to do each and everything according to Your will. Give me grace to use my fullest potential. Guide me by Your wisdom. Help me to concentrate in everything I do without any distraction. Bless me and lead me.
