God will deliver! – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
“….But deliver us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:13)
The above sentence is a part of the prayer taught by Jesus to His disciples. Yes! In this worldly life, we face many temptations, trials and tribulations. But, we have a God who can deliver us from all these burdens because He too faced these temptations and sufferings when He was in this world as a man. That is why, we read in Hebrews 2:18, “For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” So, when trials come, let us join together as a family and pray to Him and place all our trials and temptations before Him. He will surely hear our prayers and give us the relief that we need. “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man but God is faithful who will not allow You to be tempted beyond what you are able” (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Once, a group of people joined together and rose against a man. They plotted to kill him and grab his money and they were waiting for the right opportunity. Accordingly, they chose a particular day for this dreadful crime. They decided to kill him while he was returning from his office in the evening on that day. But, on the morning of that very day, this man before going to his office prayed, “Lord! Save me and preserve me today from all the temptations, evils, dangers and sins. You alone can protect me in this dark and evil world”. He did not know that someone was plotting to kill him on that day. And, on that particular evening, without his knowledge, he took another route to reach home. This gang which was waiting for him on the normal route, was disappointed. Thereafter, they could not do anything because the hand of God was with him and protected him.
My dearly beloved! Today, somebody may be plotting to harm you or to finish you off. But if you hold on to God with all your heart, He will surely save you from all dangers and trials. “For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted” (Hebrews 2:18). He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11). God Himself will watch over you and protect your life. Jesus gave His life for us like a good shepherd and will He not protect us who are His sheep from all the dangers of this world? He certainly will. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation (Psalm 91:14-16). No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17).

Loving Saviour!
I have many enemies who are plotting against me for unknown reasons. You are the Rock, Refuge and Shelter for me. From today onwards, save me and my family members from all dangers and evils as You saved the man in the above incident. I thank You because You are more than able to save me. Command Your angels concerning me to guard me in all my ways. Lead me on a safe path. I pray in the name of our Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ. AMEN.
