Peace within our houses! – Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran
“And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.” (Isaiah 65:21)
Dear Friends, today the Lord is mindful of blessing you with a wonderful promise of Isaiah 65:21, “And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them”. The Lord says to you today that you will build houses and you will dwell in them. We read in Isaiah 32:18, “My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.” Also, “may there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels” (Psalm 122:7). God wants us to be at peace. He wants our houses to be filled with the peace of God. We should be at peace with everyone in our family. That is the blessing God promises to you today.
We see how God blessed king Solomon with peace. He gave him wisdom so that he could make peace with all his neighbouring countries and he could do trades with them and get all the material he needed to build the temple for God. There was peace in the land when he ruled in Israel. We need God’s wisdom to be at peace with people. Once when two women who had babies had a conflict because one woman killed her baby by rolling over it and claimed that the living baby was hers. They went to king Solomon for judgement. King Solomon filled with the wisdom of God said, “Lets cut the baby into two and give half to each one”. The woman who was the true mother couldn’t take the verdict and asked the child to be allowed to live and King Solomon gave the baby to her as she showed the true love of a mother. This brought peace among people because of his wise ruling. God says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” (James 1:5). When we ask God He will give us wisdom generously. Let us ask God to give us wisdom to know how to relate to people, how to talk and what to do for them.
God says, “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” (2 Corinthians 6:16) When God walks among us His presence brings peace. He promises that He himself will be our God and teach us what to do and guide us with His wisdom. “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” (Hebrews 10:16). When God does that we will know what to do and how to do and God himself will be in our midst and give us peace.
Prayer:
Loving Lord!
Thank You for Your promise to build houses for me and fill my house with peace. Give me Your wisdom to be at peace with everyone at home. Write Your laws in my heart so that I will know how to talk and what to do to maintain peace. Let Your divine peace fill my heart. Let Your presence fill my house and bless us. In Your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen.
