Seek God’s great mercy! – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
“For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him” (Psalm 103:11)
We read in the Bible, God telling His chosen servant and the great apostle Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you” (2 Corinthians 12:9) when he sought His help in his sickness. God gives this grace in abundant measure to His devotees and to those who seek Him and know Him. The great grace of God was upon His disciples (Acts 4:33). But, when did they receive this grace? It was only when they sought the Lord whole-heartedly surrendering their lives for His service that they were filled by His Holy Spirit. Let us also, according to the promise verse, seek His presence, be filled by His knowledge and surrender our lives to Him. Then, He will bless us with His precious grace (Psalm 103:11).
A servant of God, filled by His divine love, went around preaching the Word of God, showing the ways of God and praying for the salvation of the people. So, they loved him and started following him. But, one man became jealous of this man and decided to kill him. So, one day, he shot an arrow at him to kill him. The arrow hit his body but did not hurt him and fell on the floor. This man who was an expert, felt humiliated by his failure to hit the target. But, do you know what the servant of God did? He took the arrow in his hand and went back to that wicked man and gave it back to him saying, “Dear friend! Take back your arrow. Please try again and you may succeed in your second attempt to kill me!” This great gesture moved his heart. God touched his cruel heart and made him regret for his evil deed. Recognizing this godly man as a true servant of God, he surrendered his life to God and learnt about the love of God.
My dearly beloved! For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him (Psalm 103:11). God’s grace is too high that it cannot be measured and God shows that grace toward all who fear Him. You too can know God and fear God by reading the Bible regularly and praying in His presence daily. Then, His grace will surround you abundantly and bless you (Psalm 32:10). God’s grace gives you favour in the eyes of people. Perhaps, you may also face opposition, jealousy, hatred and wickedness in your life but God’s grace can change your situation and make it pleasant and peaceful for you. But, the righteous are bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1). Dear Friends! You too can grow in the knowledge of the Lord and receive His abundant grace and lead a victorious life.
Prayer:
Precious Saviour!
From today onwards, bless me with Your abundant grace. Take away all my ignorance of Your divine works and give me Your divine knowledge and wisdom. Fill me with Your love. Help me to walk worthy of Your grace. Your grace is all I need to be blessed in life. Show me Your great grace.
In the gracious and precious name of our Lord Jesus, I pray,
AMEN.
