Blessings will crown your head! – Dr. Paul Dhinakaran
“Blessings crown the head of the righteous” (Proverbs 10:6)
My precious friend, may God be with you today. Today is the birthday of my beloved father Late Dr.D.G.S Dhinakaran. Though he is not with us physically his prayers and his words are still with us. I remember him with all gratitude toward God. What are the blessings that are going to crown your head because you are God’s child? Firstly, God blesses you “with the best gifts of the earth and its fullness and the favour of him who dwelt in the burning bush” (Deuteronomy 33:16). Yes, God appeared to Moses and said I am that I am (Exodus 3:14), the Almighty God. His favour shall come upon your head as a blessing. The favour of God will come upon you and whatever you ask in the name of the Lord you will receive.
Secondly, in the presence of the wicked people who surround you, who work and speak unjustly against you, God will pour His spirit upon you and crown your head as in Psalm 23:5, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows”. Your cup will begin to overflow with God’s blessings. God’s blessings will destroy the curses and the work of these wicked people from your life. God will pour the blessings upon your head as anointing oil. As we read in Leviticus 21:12, “He must not defile the sanctuary of his God by leaving it to attend to a dead person, for he has been made holy by the anointing oil of his God. I am the LORD”, the anointing oil that God puts on your head will crown you and will make you a ruler.
Thirdly, God will crown your head with honour and praise for all the shame you have gone through. He says, “At that time I will deal with all who oppressed you. I will rescue the lame; I will gather the exiles. I will give them praise and honour in every land where they have suffered shame” (Zephaniah 3:19). the Bible we see how Hannah went through shame in her life because she had no children. Her husband showed special care on her because she was worried that she had no children. But her rival wife taunted her cruelly, rubbing it in and never letting her forget that God had not given her children. This went on year after year. Every time she went to the sanctuary of God she could expect to be taunted. Hannah was reduced to tears and had no appetite (1 Samuel 1:6,7). So Hannah cried out to the Lord in her heart and God heard her prayers and blessed her with a son. God did not just bless her with an ordinary child but made that child the prophet of the nation. God brought her honour in the same area she was put to shame. God will do that for you as well. God is going to crown your head with these blessings. Thank the Lord and rejoice.
Prayer:
Loving Father,
Thank You for the wonderful promise that You will crown my head with blessings. Lord just as Your word says, let Your favour, Your anointing and the honour that comes from You crown my head and lift me in the presence of my enemies and the people who falsely accuse me. Let me shine with Your blessings in my life.
I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
