Believe and be blessed! – Bro. D.G.S Dhinakaran
“I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you.” (2 kings 20:5)
Beloved, even today we all live in this world filled with distress, sorrows, worries and tears. We too are often despondent and troubled thinking, “Will I be comforted? Will my tears be wiped away? When will my anxiety disappear?” We feel alone when troubles surround us. We feel we are struggling on our own. That is when Jesus promises us that, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Jesus has overcome the world. No sickness or sorrow could touch Him. He lived victoriously. Even the cross is a sign of the victory He has won for us. So today, you need not mourn. You can trust the Lord who bore your sorrows, sicknesses and shame on the cross and expect His joy, healing and honour to come into your life in exchange as a free gift. “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith” (1 John 5:4). Your victory rests in your faith. God will make you overcome all your troubles.
Several years ago, I had gone to the Arab countries to proclaim the Gospel. There I met a loving sister who was suffering with an incurable disease for several years. She received treatment from almost all doctors practicing medicine there. She received treatment even from the famed Christian Medical College Hospital, Vellore in India. Inspite of all this, she wandered around lifelessly. Since she constantly had unbearable pain all over her body, she used to take several sleeping pills each day. In addition to this, she was injected with medicines which helped her to sleep. She had sleepless nights because of the constant unbearable pain and wandered here and there. She had only one consolation. She would go into the bathroom, lock the door, open all the taps so that she should not be heard and shout loudly to the Lord. Day and night she will cry out saying, “Lord, there is none so unfortunate like me in this world; Why am I not able to sleep? Why is my body aching so much? Alas! What will I do if they terminate me from my job? Where will I go?”
Without even asking for the prayer request from that sister, I prayed only a small prayer. Jesus being compassionate, touched and healed her in an instant. Yes, the hand of Jesus Christ is not shortened even today. It is our unbelief and distrust which seem to shorten His hand. She fell down in a moment and when she stood up again, she was back in good health. Beloved, it was not my prayer that healed her; rather it was her tears. God saw the bitter tears that she shed in her bathroom and His heart was troubled. Dear ones, let not your hearts be troubled. Today, you may also be in a situation where you are shedding tears and I want to assure you that God is very soon going to wipe all your tears and fill you with overflowing joy.
Prayer:
Loving Father in Heaven,
You are the God who sees me and hears me. You are the God who overcame the tribulations in this world. Through the victory of Jesus, I believe I can also be victorious in this world. Make me overcome the challenges I face and make me a conqueror. Help me to be filled with Your Holy Spirit so that I can comfort those who are in trouble like me. Fill my life with joy and peace. Let there be no more tears. Only fill my mouth with praise.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.
