The Best Dad Ever! – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

“As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him.” (Psalm 103:13)
In this earthly life, the love of the father is incomparable. When the child makes a mistake, the father gets angry and chastises his child. But, the next moment, he forgets everything that the child has done and forgives his child. He embraces him and continues to love his child. This is the true love of a father! It is unique and unparalleled (Psalm 103:13). In today’s world, there are many who long for this matchless love. But, the love of the Heavenly Father is much greater and higher than the love of an earthly father. In this new week, the divine and sacrificial love of the Lord shown by Him on the Cross, will surely bless you (1 John 4:10).

Once, there lived a father who brought up his son with much love and affection. Unfortunately, the son did not understand the worth and significance of that pure and exceptional love. One day, the son abused his father using very bad words and left the house with his friends. The father was shocked and heartbroken. With tears in his eyes, he eagerly awaited day after day for his son’s return. One day, he received a letter from his son. The son had written, “Dear father, I am sorry for not understanding the value of your affection and love. I regret using bad words against you and leaving home with my wicked friends. I have lived a filthy life. But, now I regret for all my wicked and immoral ways of life. I eagerly long for your selfless and true love. Will you please forgive my sinful life and accept me as your son?” Immediately, the father sent his friend to go and bring him, forgave all his wrong and accepted him as his loving son.

This is the true love of a father! But, our Heavenly Father loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son that whosoever believed in Him may not die but have eternal life (John 3:16). My dear friends, why do you fret and fume when you have someone to give you divine and true love at no cost? Look only at our loving Heavenly Father. Then He will bless you also in an abundant measure. (Deuteronomy 30:20). The Bible says, ” as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12). That is the love of our God. Though He is holy and though He cannot look at sin, He sent His son Jesus to be our substitute so that when He looks at us He sees Jesus in us and there can be nothing that can separate us from His love. He doesn’t look at your sins anymore. He sees you as a forgiven child and righteous in His eyes because of the finished work of Jesus. No other dad can be as loving as your heavenly dad. Will you embrace HIs love?

Prayer:
Loving Lord,

The love of this world has blinded my eyes. But, from today onwards, I want to believe in Your incomparable love and dedicate my life to You. Help me never to turn hereafter towards the sinful ways of this world. Bless me and save me. Thank You for telling me that I am righteous in You. I embrace Your forgiveness and choose to walk worthy of what You have done for me.
