Goodness from the cross! – Bro. D.G.S Dhinakaran
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
Lord Jesus went through unexplainable agony to bring forgiveness and healing to His children. His head was bleeding because of the crown of thorns. He knew that our peace was worth fighting for so He endured the crown of thorns to give us peace of mind. He endured the nails and the wound on His side to heal us from all our sicknesses. When He was alive He healed everyone who came to Him and because He was leaving earth He brought healing to the entire humanity through His suffering. Today, anybody who looks to Him for healing will surely be healed. Don’t listen to doctors if they say your condition is incurable. God says, “According to your faith let it be done to you”; (Matthew 9:29). You should put your trust only on the Word of God. Bible says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away” (Matthew 24:35). So if God says it will be done to you according to your faith, you should put your faith on God’s willing heart to heal everyone who comes to Him and you will surely experience healing.
Several years ago, in a place in Texas, United States of America, a man was passing by a beautiful garden. There he saw a sweet little boy standing and admiring the flowers in the garden. Suddenly, the man spotted a very poisonous snake approaching the boy stealthily. He understood the danger and realized that it would strike the boy and that he would die instantly. He didn’t know what to do. However, within a twinkling of an eye he jumped in-between the snake and the little child and the snake turned its attention on him and struck him ten times. He screamed in agony. Hearing this, the father of the child and a few others came running. The snake left away and the little child was saved. This man was taken to the hospital, where he fought for his life. Ultimately he was saved. When the little boy would have grown, whenever he happened to see that man, he would have said, “This is the man who was about to sacrifice his life for me.”
The Lord Jesus too offered Himself to be struck by the serpent, the devil. His whole body was wounded. Just as His wounds bring healing, His blood that was shed on the cross brings forgiveness of sins no matter how bad it is. The thoughts of Jesus were, “Let me endure this patiently so that my children would be redeemed from sin”. He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities. He tasted death in order to save us from the hands of the devil. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). God has made forgiveness easily available through His sacrifice. He endured the punishment that was supposed to come upon us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God (Romans 5:9). We don’t have to fear the wrath of God anymore for we are accepted by God through Jesus Christ. Do you believe in the healing, forgiveness and blessings of the cross? You should rightfully claim them.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
Thank You for all that You suffered on the cross for my sake. Lord, bless me with peace of mind and a life that is filled with the blessings you earned for me on the cross. I confess my sins to You and I repent of my ways. Forgive me and set me free from all my sins. Heal me and free me from all my weaknesses. Let me enjoy the freedom you purchased for me on the cross.
I ask this Loving Father in Jesus name,
Amen.
