Serve God tirelessly! – Bro. D.G.S Dhinakaran
“Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it” (Colossians 4:17)
Fulfilling God’s commission is the duty of every believer however, doing God’s ministry full time might not be the calling of God to everyone. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters (Colossians 3:23). Whether we serve God by sharing His Word as a full time job or engage in other jobs, we must fulfil God’s calling and then we will be prosperous. God’s calling for all of us is to share His truth with others.
Once we had been to Darjeeling in North India to conduct our crusades. It was held just four days. Those people had never heard much about our Lord Jesus Christ. Yet people thronged in multitudes to the meeting. We witnessed such great miracles those 3 nights. After completing the crusade we stepped out of the house and were about to get into our car when a jeep stopped in front of us. The Pastor of the church ran towards them and inquired. Then I was taken to the jeep. What I was taken to the jeep. What I saw and heard broke my heart. They had brought a sixteen year old girl. She suffered from epilepsy. Time and gain she used to suffer from the attack. One day she was cooking in her home all alone. Suddenly she had the epileptic attack and without her knowledge she had burnt her hand in the fire. Only when she came back to her normal senses she realized that her hand was burnt completely. At that moment somebody said, “Lord Jesus has come to Darjeeling, take her there, she will be healed”. So they had carried her in a cot. On seeing her pitiable condition I wept bitterly. Only then it struck me that there is no end to preaching the Gospel or the needs to be fulfilled by preaching the Gospel. The need for miracles and the need for proclaiming that “Jesus Christ is the Redeemer of the world” are as never ending process.
The world will always be in need of people who preach Christ. The bible says, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Romans 10:15). God needs people like you to do the work of carrying the good news. Jesus says, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” (Matthew 9:37). This is the time we need to make use so that we can prepare the world for the Lord’s coming. The only meaningful thing to do is to save souls. The Bible says, “The one who is wise saves lives” (Proverbs 11:30). Prayerfully make use of every opportunity to testify about God to others.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I can be Your witness everywhere I go. I know that the harvest is huge. Use me to work for Your kingdom’s expansion. I want to be wise in Your sight. Help me to see hundredfold results like Isaac in every small work I do for You. Let people’s heart yield to Your Word and respond to Your love.
In Your mighty name I pray,
Amen.
