Seek God and be satisfied! – Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran
“The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing” (Psalm 34:10)
Seeking God is the only thing that will satisfy our soul. Our soul needs to communicate with its Creator to be nourished just as our body needs nourishment. Often we tend to engage in activities that entertain us. But entertainment leaves our heart void. It just fills us with temporary happiness. We need to find joy that lasts. Our circumstances might need to change to bring us joy. In order to receive God’s blessings that can bring joy into our life we need to start seeking Him. The Bible says, ‘Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4). When we fix out attention on God’s Word and when we make Him our first priority in life, God will surely give us the desires of our heart. We will surely receive everything we need in His time.
When I got married and came into my husband’s house I observed one thing that was happening there always. There was always prayer being made in the house. In the morning everyone woke up from their beds and the first thing they did was to go on their knees and pray then they read the Bible. Then they all came together as a family and prayed. Then before going to office or anywhere outside they’d say, “let us pray!” In the beginning it was difficult for me to become a part of this pray always culture. But today when I think of it I wonder how blessed I am because of that culture of prayer. It is that prayer that has made me a great minister of God today. I was so timid by nature when I got married. But today God has enabled me with so much of strength and courage. He is blessing so many people through me. Friend! Prayer Life is very important. Whoever you are I sincerely advice you to pray before doing anything.
God says, “The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing” (Psalm 34:10). When we seek God, He will provide for us so that we do not have to toil out of our own strength. God will multiply the little we have. We don’t have to wander about seeking help from people. God himself will be our help. He will meet all our needs according to His glorious riches (Philippians 4:19). What is impossible with men is possible with God (Luke 18:27). No matter how scary your problem might look, God will blow it away like a feather within minutes. No sickness is too incurable with Him. He has raised the dead and there will never be anything that God cannot do. So rely on His ability. Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always (1 Chronicles 16:11). God can cast mountains into the sea, make ways in the wilderness and streams in the desert. He can help the powerless against the mighty (2 Chronicles 14:11). So cheer up! All you need is God. So turn to Him today in prayer.
Prayer:
Loving Father God,
I come to Your presence remembering and repenting for my ways in which I have not sought Your guidance. Lord I want to live a life that is in a close communion with You. You alone can remove my sorrows and satisfy my soul for You are my Saviour. Give me a heart that longs for Your Word. Help me to give You the first place in my life and be blessed in life.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.
