God will enlarge your borders! – Bro. D.G.S Dhinakaran

“Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.” (Psalm 2:8)
Jabez in the Bible is an exemplary character who turned his destiny through his decision to ask and receive God’s blessings. His mother named him Jabez with the meaning ‘I gave birth to him in pain’ (1 Chronicles 4:9). What a misfortunate name that was! Every time Jabez was called by his name it would have brought him sorrow. He suffered because pain followed him in all his ways. But he understood that God has power to change his circumstances and make him a blessing. He cried out to God saying “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory. Let your hand be with me and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain” (1 Chronicles 4:10). Bible records that God granted him his request. God made him more honourable than his brothers. God extended his boundaries and made him prosperous.

Once, I happened to meet an industrialist in Chennai. He owned many factories and educational institutions. But the most important business was production of soap. And since it was in great demand, it had to be purchased with full amount and the amount was to be paid fifteen days earlier. He narrated to me how he got to that position. He was previously employed in an office and worked until his work got over by 5pm. Soon after his work, he and his wife would produce the soaps and load them in a van. It was his job to go from house to house and literally plead with people to buy the soaps. By the time, he returned home, it used by 12 in the night. His body would be in so much pain, that he couldn’t even sleep at night. His wife used to see him daily in this painful condition and one day she lamented before God ‘Lord enlarge our territory.’ Lord heard her plea and enlarged their territory seven folds.

My beloved, the same can happen to you too. If you think you are having small finances, small position, you don’t need to worry. But you should pray like Jabez prayed “Lord enlarge my territory”. When you pray like this, God will increase your borders. You will be blessed in all the areas of your life. Don’t get settled for things that you’re not happy with, asks God and He will bless you with greater blessings. But you need to have one thing to receive the blessing. And that is; faith. As you believe for things to happen in your life, it will be. The greater your faith, the greater you receive. So enlarge your faith to get your borders enlarged by God.

Loving Lord,

I believe with all my heart that You can change my humble circumstances like You changed the life of Jabez. Extend my territory and keep me away from pain and sorrow. Let Your hand of blessing be upon me and bless me in everything I do. Make me rise to great heights and bring You glory. Increase my faith to inherit the miracles You have in store for me.
