Love One Another – Shilpa Dhinakaran
“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God.” (1 John 4:7)The Bible tells us to love one another. Only if we have the nature of God’s love in us we can boldly say that we are His children. Bible affirms, “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love” (1 John 4:8).God has loved us and so we must also love one another (John 13:34).This is the most important commandment to be followed in our marriages too. According to Ephesians 5:33, “let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.” We are called to love and respect our spouses. A perfect marriage is between just two imperfect people who refuse to give up on each other. There’s a saying which says, “Marriages are made in heaven, so is thunder and lightning.” Yes, there may be ups and downs, misunderstandings and disagreements in your marriage but don’t give up on your spouse. Certain things that we can do to make our marriages more wonderful are,
1. Rely on God at all times. Give God the first place in your life, more importantly in your marriage.
2. Pray for your spouse.
3. Forgive each other. It doesn’t matter who’s right or wrong in a relationship, all that matters is to have a family filled with love, joy and peace.
4. Be patient and encourage one another.
5. Be loyal and faithful to each other.
The first wedding was performed by God in the Garden of Eden and the first miracle of Jesus was performed at the Wedding of Cana. That’s how much the Lord values marriages. Therefore, it is our responsibility to pray for our marriages and for our spouses. We should always be thankful for our spouses chosen by God especially for each and every one of us.
Prayer:Lord Jesus,
Thank You for this day. Bless all that I do and perfect everything that concerns me. Help me to radiate Your love to others. I thank You lord for blessing me with a wonderful and blessed married life. You have given me the perfect spouse. Help me to always be a good and faithful spouse. Help us to always keep You as the head of our family.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
